Happy Halloween!

Plushies Softies Stitching & Doodling

Had quite a varied week craftwise, with it being school holiday week I had more time to 'play' without feeling guilty. I got back into my stitching, though I wanted to do some machine sewing but it's not working properly (aghh scream)......I took it to bits and cleaned and oiled it but it still won't go.....hmm. My Mum and Dad got it for me when I was 18 so it is now 21 years old. My husband said why don't I treat myself to a new one for Christmas, I think I would but my lovely (not working) machine has so much sentimental value. I Managed to make a mini patchwork cushion while muttering under my breath though!

Then went onto hand stitching and I made a little monster plushie/softie and personalised it on the back.

I made a white and gold Christmas Heart felt decoration which I embroidered and beaded.

Wednesday the girls went to their Grandmas and it was a lovely sunny morning which I spent in the conservatory just doodling and colouring.

I finished the stocking on my advent calendar crossstitch and made a start on an Angel.

Cross Stitch

This is the Advent Calendar I started years ago and have decided to finish. Last night I completed the Christmas Pudding and made a start on a Stocking. When finished I need to add a Numbered Decorated Matchbox (with treat) over each picture.

This is the first counted cross stitch I made after the birth of my first daughter Megan.

Next I did another counted cross stitch, Old McDonalds farm.

Finally a sampler for Elenor which I designed myself. I love the bright colours I used!

This week I made.............

a card for one of my husband's colleagues! I love to get requests for special cards and with this one I did a matching gift tag.

These cute little Oriental style ladies I made using a 1" circle punch for the face and again for the hair, one whole black circle and one circle cut in half.

During the many hours I have been blog browsing I was inspired by other bloggers cross stitch, so I have dug out a cross stitch Advent Calendar I started about 4 or 5 years ago, I can't believe I never got around to finishing it for my daughters (bad Mum!!). I WILL complete it and post some photo's.

Behind with the Blogging

I had (still have) good intentions to post regularly but I spend more and more time looking at other peoples blogs and then following their links to more interesting places!! I will add links to the blogs that I particularly like.

Its been quite pleasant this week weather wise!
Monday I got wrapped up and took Tilly for a walk down the lane, past the farm and back up the hill. Only out about 20 minutes but felt really invigorated, physically and mentally! There are beautiful views with all the leaves changing colour and the sun was out and I was toasty warm with a lovely fresh breeze...........mmm!

Tuesday I was home as had flexi day to take and I cut the back lawn and then scarified it..........that's the best bit pulling out all the moss and dead grass. Quite a lot of earth showing through but looks so much healthier now.

Wednesday listed some pretty handmades on etsy and ebay.

Thursday work.

Today girls at home, baking as below!

School Inset Day = Baking!!

My two gorgeous girls actually behaving themselves after being soooo naughty this morning!!

The finished cakes, had them later (not all of them!) in the afternoon with a cup of tea, delicious!!

Tilly our Border Terrier

This is our gorgeous Border Terrier Tilly.
She joined our family Easter 2008, born 20 Jan 2008. We had been deciding whether we could give a dog all the time and company they need for well over a year. Our daughters were deperate for a dog and had proved they were responsible pet carers with their hamsters Sunny and Harriet. So we got Tilly and the girls have been fantastic with her. Definately made the right decision.
She is a welcome addition to our family, and has got all of us out together as a family more often.
